Olympiacos S.F.P. hosted the DigiRoot Roll-out Presentation in Greece
Olympiacos S.F.P., within the framework of its active participation in the European project DigiRoot – Managing the Digital Transformation in Grassroots Sports, hosted the local roll-out presentation of the project in Greece at the Club’s offices.
The meeting was attended by Olympiacos S.F.P. staff, collaborators, representatives of the sports ecosystem, and relevant stakeholders, with the aim of informing participants about the importance of digitalisation and digital upgrading for modern sports organisations.
During the presentation, participants were introduced to the main objectives of DigiRoot, a European initiative designed to support grassroots sports clubs and multisport organisations in adopting digital tools, educational resources, and innovative solutions. Particular emphasis was placed on how digital technology can contribute to improving internal organisation, communication, data management, daily operations, and the long-term sustainability of sports organisations.
An online walkthrough of the DigiRoot platform was also carried out, allowing participants to gain a practical understanding of its content, functionalities, and usage process. During the online navigation, the main steps for accessing the platform were explained, along with how to make use of the available educational resources and tools, as well as the opportunities it offers to support sports clubs throughout their digital transformation process.
The event also highlighted the crucial role of an organisation’s human resources, such as administrative staff, coaches, employees, and collaborators, in successfully transitioning towards a more modern, efficient, and digitally mature operational model. Through the presentation, it was underlined that digital upgrading is no longer a future option, but a necessary process for strengthening the efficiency, transparency, and resilience of sports organisations.
DigiRoot focuses on the development of a European learning and digital resources platform, which will provide useful educational material, practical guidance, and tools to support clubs throughout their digital transformation journey. The platform is expected to contribute to skills development, capacity building, and the exchange of good practices among sports organisations at European level.
By organising this roll-out presentation, Olympiacos S.F.P. contributed to strengthening the visibility of DigiRoot in Greece, disseminating the project’s objectives to key actors of the local sports ecosystem, and raising awareness about the need for digital transformation in sports clubs.
Olympiacos S.F.P. continues to actively participate in European initiatives that promote innovation, education, sustainability, and the development of sport, further strengthening its role as an organisation with a strong social, educational, and European dimension.
