Project Summary

The STRIVE project (Schools & Teqvolley for Respect, Inclusion, Vitality & Equality) is a transnational Erasmus+ initiative aimed at promoting equality, social inclusion, and healthy lifestyles through sport. The project is implemented by S.S. Lazio Teqball in Italy and Olympiacos Piraeus in Greece, with a duration of 12 months and a total budget of €60,000.

STRIVE uses the innovative sport of Teqvoly to encourage the participation of girls, people with disabilities, and young people from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The project includes free training sessions in schools, educational seminars for teachers and coaches, awareness-raising activities, and inclusive tournaments in both Greece and Italy.

At the same time, the programme promotes European values such as respect, equality, and non-discrimination, creating a safe and accessible sporting environment for all participants. By combining sport, education, and social inclusion, STRIVE aims to strengthen cooperation between schools and sports organisations while empowering young people to become active, confident, and socially engaged citizens.

The Main Objectives of the Project

1. Promoting Equal Opportunities for Girls

STRIVE aims to strengthen girls’ participation in sports by combating stereotypes and social barriers that limit their access to sporting activities. As a sport based on volleyball, Teqvoly is a familiar and accessible activity that enhances self-confidence, teamwork, and the active involvement of girls in sport.

2. Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities

The programme creates an inclusive sporting environment where students with and without disabilities participate together in training sessions and competitions. Through mixed teams and educational activities, the project promotes respect, acceptance of diversity, and social cohesion.

3. Access to Sport for Young People from Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Areas

STRIVE provides free Teqvoly lessons in schools located in disadvantaged areas, offering equipment, educational materials, and teacher training. The goal is to ensure that sport is a right for everyone and not a privilege for a few, reducing social exclusion and encouraging young people to participate in healthy and positive activities.
