DIGIROOT

DigiRoot

Program Description:

The DigiRoot project aims to assist small and medium-sized grassroots sports clubs across Europe in adopting digital technology to enhance their operations, increase efficiency, and support their long-term sustainability. Grassroots sports clubs are a vital part of the European sports landscape, contributing to individual and community well-being, social inclusion, health, social cohesion, and economic growth. However, the majority of these clubs lack the resources and expertise to implement digital solutions effectively, leaving them behind in the digital transformation.

Low digitalization levels in grassroots sports clubs can be attributed to resource constraints, limited information, and a lack of staff with IT and digital skills. Many grassroots clubs lack the resources and knowledge to manage the digitalization process effectively.

Project Summary:

DigiRoot aims to bridge this gap by providing a comprehensive learning and digital resources platform, known as the DigiRoot platform, tailored to the general needs of grassroots sports clubs. The platform is designed to support clubs in their digitalization efforts by offering educational courses, an overview of software solutions, and guidance on best practices for building a strong IT/digital infrastructure. The project will identify innovative solutions that can be integrated into the platform and will facilitate knowledge exchange and best practices among various clubs and organizations. Furthermore, DigiRoot will promote collaboration by encouraging networking and partnerships between sports clubs and tech companies to develop customized solutions that meet the unique needs of each club.

Project Objectives:

  • Primary Goal: Promote digitalization among grassroots sports clubs to enhance their efficiency and long-term sustainability.

  • Objectives:
    • Provide access to resources and information that aid digitalization processes.

    • Support networking and collaboration with technology companies.

    • Facilitate knowledge exchange on digital best practices among clubs.

Additional Information:

Keywords: Digitalization, grassroots sports, IT infrastructure, long-term sustainability, efficiency, knowledge sharing, collaboration with technology partners.
