EU Teq Games

EU TEQ GAMES

Promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity and gender equality in sport through the introduction of a new sport, teqball.

The project is aimed and promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity and gender equality in sport through the introduction of a new sport, teqball. This is especially important in this moment as a post-covid recovery and teqball is a relatively new sport (2012) that is able to include the participation of all ages, genders and abilities.

Teqball involves the use of a curved table called a Teqtable. Whilst traditionally the main sport played is a version of football (Teqball), which is what the project will focus on more in depth, the project will also promote the use of the teqtable, which is designed in such a way that it allow various multisport disciplines to be practised and played such as Teqvoly (derived from Volleyball), Teqpong (derived from ping-pong), Teqis (derived from tennis), and Qatch (derived from handball). The objective in fact is to promote physical activity through different sports all played on one common table.

Teqball is an inclusive sport as the specific design of the table facilitates the games for athletes with physical disabilities. The spatial requirements of the Teqsports are not extensive so every club will be able to find an area to position the table.

Hello there I am Esmis Project

The project aims to increase the knowledge of the sports from a transnational perspective by providing official online coaching courses to the partner sports clubs, teaching the coaches the rules of Teqball and how the game is played. The coaches will be certified in terms of FITEQ (the International Federation of Teqball).

Once the coaches are certified and to ensure sustainability & continuity of the project and its outcomes, as well as a strong European identity, 2 European events will take place during the project lifetime (1 each year), which will be known as the “EURO TEQ GAMES”.

Hello there I am Esmis Project

The overall objective of DigiRoot is to help small and medium-sized European grassroots sport clubs in adopting digital technology to improve their operations, increase efficiency, and support their long-term sustainability.

Grassroots sport clubs are a crucial part of the European sports landscape, contributing to individual and community well-being, social integration, health, social cohesion and economic development. However, majority of these clubs are lagging in terms of digitalization.

The low level of digitalisation in grassroot sport clubs can be attributed to lack of resources, lack of information, shortage of employees with IT and digitalisation knowledge, amongst other factors. As many grassroots clubs lack the resources and knowledge to manage the digitalisation process
