Presentation of Results and Policy Recommendations of the European Movement Pills Programme in Piraeus

A dissemination event (multiplier event) of the European programme Movement Pills was successfully held, with the participation of local authorities, institutional stakeholders, and decision-makers.

The aim of the event was to present the project results, as well as the methodology developed to promote physical activity as a key tool for prevention and public health improvement.

During the event, participants were introduced to the main project activities, achieved results, and benefits for citizens, with a particular focus on tackling sedentary lifestyles and encouraging more active behaviours.

Special emphasis was given to the presentation of the Movement Pills methodology, which promotes physical activity as a “natural remedy”, along with innovative tools and collaborative approaches designed to engage citizens.

The event also included the presentation of the project’s Policy Recommendations, addressed to institutional stakeholders, aiming to support the integration of physical activity into public health policies and to improve access to sport opportunities.

The discussion highlighted the importance of cooperation between sport organisations, public authorities, and local communities in developing sustainable initiatives that promote health and well-being.

The Movement Pills project is a European initiative aimed at tackling sedentary lifestyles and promoting physical activity as a key element of primary prevention.

Olympiacos at the "heart" of Bologna for the finale of the European project "Movement Pills"

Bologna, February 18, 2026 – Olympiacos S.F.P. was present at the historic hall of Palazzo d'Accursio in Bologna, Italy, participating in the final meeting of the pioneering European Erasmus+ project "Movement Pills".

In an event full of symbolism and substance, our club's representatives were at the center of discussions regarding the promotion of health through sport. The opening day of the conference included institutional greetings from the Mayor of Bologna, as well as the leadership of UISP (Italian Union "Sport for Everyone"), the project coordinator. A common denominator of the speeches was the urgent need to combat a sedentary lifestyle, which constitutes one of the greatest modern challenges for public health.

However, the impressions were won by the moving, experiential testimonies of the project's beneficiaries themselves. Ordinary citizens, who received the "Movement Pills" – which symbolically prescribe exercise as a natural medicine – shared their stories with the audience. They described with emotion how free access to sports activities radically changed their daily lives, improved their physical and mental health, and helped them integrate into a more active social community.

Olympiacos, faithful to its vision for social outreach and contribution, played a decisive role throughout the project. Our club, through its participation, confirmed once again that sport is not only about high-level competition but is also a powerful social tool for prevention and well-being. Our presence in Italy completes a cycle of actions aimed at inspiring citizens to incorporate movement into their lives, leaving a significant legacy for the future.
