Key Activities and Experiences on the Third Day of the "Road to the Olympics for Ukrainian Athletes"

The third day of the Erasmus+ project "Road to the Olympics for Ukrainian Athletes", hosted by OLYMPIACOS SFP at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, unfolded successfully , Wednesday, 7 May 2025, featuring significant sessions and enriching experiences.

The day began with a session focused on finalizing training methodologies and reviewing the feedback collected from participating Ukrainian athletes. This was followed by discussions around the Action Plan and Next Steps, with emphasis on specific deliverables per Work Package (WP) and the timeline for upcoming activities and communication milestones.

A special highlight of the day was a guided tour of the Peace and Friendship Stadium, organized in collaboration with Olympiacos B.C. and the venue staff. Participants had the unique opportunity to visit the main arena, where Olympiacos basketball games are held, the team locker rooms, as well as the training facilities of the stadium. This experience further strengthened the spirit of collaboration and highlighted the link between elite sports and the educational and social objectives of the project.

Innovation in sports education at the heart of the second day of the “Road to Olympics” program in Piraeus

The activities of the second in-person meeting of the European project “Road to Olympics” continued with great interest at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, which is hosting all actions of the four-day training program, with the participation of Olympiacos SFP.

This is a major European initiative under the auspices of the European Commission, implemented through the Erasmus+ programme. Its goal is to provide innovative skills and specialized knowledge to high-level athletes from Ukraine and other countries, through a pioneering methodology developed by the International Center of Taekwondo. This methodology aims at the holistic development of athletes, both competitively and personally, within a modern educational framework.

During the second day, a presentation was held on the Neurotracker cognitive training system, which is based on the Dual-Task methodology. The presentation included a live demonstration of techniques that help athletes improve perception, focus, and decision-making under high-pressure conditions.

At the same time, Kinetic Analysis BV presented the new IDRO technology, an innovative system for non-invasive and continuous monitoring of lactate levels in athletes. IDRO provides accurate real-time fitness assessments, supporting tailored training to maximize performance.

The day concluded with a comparative analysis of data collected from previous training sessions. Through group discussions between athletes and coaches, valuable insights were shared regarding the effectiveness of the applied techniques and potential improvements to the methodology.

Highly Successful First Day of the “Road to Olympics” Program in Piraeus

The second in-person meeting of the prestigious European program “Road to Olympics” kicked off with great success in Piraeus, specifically at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, with the participation of Olympiacos SFP.

This important initiative, held under the auspices of the European Commission and implemented through the Erasmus+ program, aims to provide innovative skills and specialized knowledge to high-level athletes from Ukraine and other countries. The program is based on a cutting-edge methodology developed by the International Taekwondo Center, focusing on the comprehensive development of athletes through a modern educational framework.

During the first day of the meeting:

  • Key next steps and responsibilities for each partner were outlined.

  • A detailed analysis of data collected from past training sessions was conducted.

  • Guidelines were provided for the next phase of the project.

The training sessions conducted as part of “Road to Olympics” are designed to support athletes in developing both athletically and personally, leveraging the expertise and experience of top-level professionals in the field.

Successful Completion of the 'Road to Olympics' Meeting in Madrid with the Participation of Olympiacos"

The in-person meeting of the European program "Road to Olympics" recently concluded in Madrid, with the participation of an Olympiacos delegation. The meeting aimed to provide innovative skills and cognitive training to high-level athletes from Ukraine and other countries. Utilizing a groundbreaking methodology developed by the International Center Taekwondo, the program seeks to foster the development and growth of athletes through a modern educational framework.

During the meeting, training sessions were also held, with Olympiacos athletes participating alongside Ukrainian athletes. One of the sessions focused on "mental training," a method that combines mental preparation with physical performance enhancement. This approach explores the interaction between exercise and concentration, training the athletes’ minds.

Supported by the European Commission through Erasmus+, the program was held during the European Week of Sport, Be Active. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Greece in six months, where the research findings will be presented.

"Mind Training on the First Day of Road to Olympics in Madrid"

An Olympiacos delegation is currently in Madrid, participating in the in-person meeting of the prestigious European program "Road to Olympics." This meeting aims to provide innovative skills and knowledge to high-level athletes from Ukraine and other countries. The program implements a pioneering methodology developed by the International Taekwondo Center, which aspires to enhance the growth and development of athletes through a modern educational framework.

During the first day of the training session, Olympiacos athletes, along with Ukrainian athletes currently in Spain, took part in a unique "mind training." This method focuses on mental preparation, which subsequently improves physical performance. Through this research, which combines exercise with concentration, each athlete trains their mind. In six months, a corresponding meeting will be held in Greece, where the results of the research will be presented.

The "Road to Olympics" program is supported by the European Commission through Erasmus+, and the meetings are taking place this week as part of the European Be Active week.

Olympiacos is in Spain with a delegation of six male and female athletes.
