Presentation Event of the Sport Innovation Index

Olympiacos CFP successfully organized a presentation event within the framework of the European project Sport Innovation Index (SII), funded by the Erasmus+ Sport programme.

 

The event took place at the club’s facilities and was attended by staff and internal representatives from various departments of Olympiacos. Participants were introduced to the Sport Innovation Index, a new digital self-assessment tool designed to help sports organisations:

·       evaluate their innovation capacity,

·       compare their performance across Europe, and

·       receive targeted recommendations for organisational improvement.

 

The presentation focused on:

●    the findings of the project,

●    a walkthrough of the self-assessment platform, and

●    the broader potential of the SII tool in supporting evidence-based strategies in the field of sport governance and innovation.

 

The SII project is coordinated by the European Platform for Sport Innovation (EPSI), with the participation of 10 organisations from 9 countries.

Olympiacos SFP at the 3rd Transnational Meeting of the European Project Sport Innovation Index (SII)

Olympiacos SFP, an official partner of the European project Sport Innovation Index (SII), actively participated in the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting, held on April 10 and 11, 2024, at Work iQ – Innovation Quarter in Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland.

The meeting brought together all project partners with the main goal of assessing the progress made so far, planning the next steps, and strengthening transnational cooperation for the successful completion of the project.

During the meeting, important developments in each Work Package of the Sport Innovation Index project were presented and discussed, reflecting the project's progress and priorities:

    Work Package 1 – Coordination (EPSI):
 The project coordinator, European Platform for Sport Innovation (EPSI), provided an overview of the implementation progress to date and outlined the next steps for completing outstanding tasks.

    Work Package 3 – Analysis & Evaluation (University of Amsterdam):
 The University of Amsterdam team presented data on the participation of sports organizations in the self-assessment tool.

    Work Package 5 – Communication & Dissemination (Olympiacos SFP):
 The Olympiacos team presented the progress of communication activities and the action plan for organizing the Multiplier Events—online dissemination activities to be carried out in each partner country to present the project and promote the self-assessment platform.

The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the sustainability of the project outcomes and the long-term utilization of its tools and practices. Partners submitted proposals for continuing the collaboration, expanding the impact, and enhancing the implementation of the SII at both national and European levels.

Olympiacos SFP’s participation highlights its strategic commitment to social inclusion through sport, as well as its active role in European initiatives that promote innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility in the sports sector.

Further Development of the Sport Innovation Index (SII) Program

Olympiacos, as a key partner in European Commission programs through Erasmus+, continues to actively participate in project meetings. On Monday, January 13, the meeting of the Sport Innovation Index (SII) project took place. This project aims to create a tool for evaluating the level of innovation within sports organizations, with the overarching goal of helping stakeholders improve their governance, compare innovative outcomes in real-time or against other organizations, and excel in innovation.

During the meeting, a review of the project’s progress to date was conducted, timelines and deadlines for the implementation of upcoming actions were confirmed, and the decision was made to create a detailed guide outlining the process for sending invitations to stakeholders.

The next in-person meeting of all involved parties has been scheduled for the first week of April 2025, in Dublin.

Olympiacos' participation in European initiatives such as the Erasmus+ program holds significant importance. With its extensive experience in sports and management, the club makes a valuable contribution to fostering development and innovation on a European level. Through this collaboration, Olympiacos not only exchanges best practices with leading European organizations but also strengthens its position as a leader in adopting digital technologies and promoting sustainability in sports.

Olympiacos participated in the Sport Innovation Index meeting in Ancient Olympia

In the context of the General Assembly of EPSI (European Platform for Sports Innovation) that took place in Ancient Olympia from October 7-11, Olympiacos participated in the meeting of the European Commission's Sport Innovation Index program through Erasmus+. This project aims to create a tool for assessing the level of innovation in sports organizations, with the general goal of helping stakeholders improve their governance, compare innovative outcomes in a timely manner or with other organizations, and excel in innovation.

During the meeting, the project’s current evaluation was discussed, and the timelines and deadlines for further works were confirmed. Additionally, it was decided to create a step-by-step guide for sending invitations to interested parties.

The next in-person meeting of all involved parties is scheduled for the first week of April 2025 in Dublin.

Olympiacos' participation in European programs, such as Erasmus+, is extremely important as, with its long-standing experience in sports and management, the club significantly contributes to development and innovation at the European level. Through this participation, Olympiacos not only exchanges best practices with leading European organizations but also strengthens its position as a pioneer in adopting digital technologies and promoting sustainability in sports.
